Mr. Balaban commented on the school district’s Holocaust curriculum and cultural enrichment program which has been pursuing for over a decade.
Mr. Iaichio commented on the curriculum and asked if the school district was keeping in the forefront the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks as well as current terrorism including the latest tragedy in Ft. Hood which has not been declared a terrorist act. There was discussion among the board regarding this inclusion.
New Business
Mr. Iachio informed the Board that Verizion FIOS was carrying TV-34 on Channel 32.
The superintendent gave information on the next meeting and the Senior Social.
Public Portion
Saul Qersdyn
Mr. Qersdyn asked about the place and time of this year’s annual Roselle-Roselle Park football game. Mr. Iachio spoke on the trophy and the game.
With no other business, the meeting was adjourned.

PSE&G Presentation
There was a presentation given by PSE&G representatives Robert Hughes and Eileen Leahey regarding new lights being proposed for the Borough of Roselle Park.
The mayor asked questions on the proposal’s upgrade.
The Borough Clerk asked regarding cost savings for the proposal.
The mayor had additional questions regarding their evolution.
Councilwoman Chen-Hoerning had questions regarding the lights and their brightness.
The mayor asked about other communities that have the new lights.
Councilman Dinardo asked regarding the scheduled duration to change the lights.

Councilman Dinardo
Councilman Dinardo spoke on the traffic light monitoring system, a speaking engagement he had, and a Planning Board meeting that was scheduled.
The mayor spoke on “Cleaning For A Reason”, a free cleaning service that provides free house cleaning for women undergoing chemotherapy.
Councilwoman Chen-Hoerning
The councilwoman spoke on the Planning Board meeting and the Community Methodist Church Sing-Along.
Council-At-Large Hokanson
Councilman Hokanson spoke on the Indo-American New Year celebration, the Concerned Citizens meeting, the Environmental Committee meeting, a 300-Day-In-Office meeting, the Hit & Run fatality, and the new feature of downloading permits on the Borough web site. He wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
